Sorry Girls, Ron Doesn't Do Nude!
Ron Ng represented a skincare product at a promotion earlier and showing off his bronze tan, he says he has never been sunbathing in a Western country before, so he would like to give it a try. Ron says: "Nude sunbathing is popular in the West and I would like to take a look and see the naked people, but I am not brave enough to do it myself, just to watch. The most extreme for me is sunbathing in my underpants on my friend's rooftop. (Did you compare each other's figures?) Just who was darker."

Shirley & Linda in the Sun
Usually sporting very fair skins, Shirley Yeung and Linda Chung were filming under the hot summer sun for "Circus of Life" and were sweltering in the heat. Shirley complains: "The show is about treasure hunting, so we often have to film on location in some remote areas, making us become rather tanned and our arms and legs are now the colour of chocolate. I prefer to be whiter, so all I can do is put on more sunscreen and powder, so I don't look too dark on screen." Although constantly filming on location, Linda is not finding it too hard work, because she nearly suffered heat stroke filming for "Always on Standby": "Last time I had to wear a helmet for filming and in the sun and heat, it was much harder."

Myolie Attacked by Caterpillar
TVB's new series "Troubled Times" was filming in the rural areas earlier and during the filming a refugee scene where the cast had to sit on the ground, a long caterpillar crawled up Myolie Wu's trousers into her sensitive regions, scaring her so much she jumped up and screamed. Then she said rather shocked: "Luckily I had some shorts on under my long trousers, otherwise it would have been awful!"
With the extremely hot weather warnings, fellow cast member Leila Tong found that it was difficult being a loving mother. She plays Lau Dan's fourth wife in the series and wearing a thick costume, she had to carry a baby as she ran and it was very hard work! Leila says: "It was so hot I felt like I was melting! Yu Fei is Back!
After losing out on the top award at last year's TVB anniversary awards, Sheren Tang has been rumoured to have been 'frozen' for a while after turning down offers of work from TVB, however it appears she has been 'thawed out' ready for next month, when she will be starring in new series "It's hard to be a Woman", deemed to be a Hong Kong version of hit US drama "Desperate Housewives" and she hopes that a 'modern-day Yu Fei' will give a new air of power!
The new series will have three leading ladies opposite three male leads and along with Sheren, Melissa Ng has also been confirmed among the cast. Sheren will be playing a strong businesswoman, who has a great career, but a not so great love life, so she needs a sperm donor to have a child. Currently filming in Hengdian, Sheren responds to the question of 'thawing' saying: "I have said all along that I wasn't suspended, I just took some leave from TVB because I wanted a rest and to film an external series."
Sheren will be returning to Hong Kong at the end of the month and will have her costume fitting early next month before diving straight into filming. She is very excited at the prospect of the new show: "I have always admired producer Poon Ka Tak and he does feminine shows very well, for example Liza Wang's 'The Awakening Story'. I worked with him over ten years ago on 'Yuk Yat Bui Hau', where I played a businesswoman. It left an impression because Elizabeth Lee had a UFO hairstyle!"
Sheren had earlier visited TVB to discuss the script with Producer Poon and she says that after reading the story and hearing the title, she was excited and applauding because she felt that the series and the role were made for her, with the leading female's background very reflective of her own, so she is confident of doing a good job. As for the character's battles in the world of business being a modern depiction of 'Yu Fei', Sheren emphasises that in real life, she would not have a sperm donor because it is a very irresponsible and selfish thing to do.
Although Sheren is full of praise for the series, when asked if she would be reaching a second peak in her career, she would not discuss this, as she believes that the series is a team effort and also has to tie in with the right time and place.

The people around me were feeling my pain for me. Maybe I was not aware of my pain, but I didn't fight that hard." Joyce says she seems to have a lot of fight scenes in the series: "The OL's (office ladies) in the show are okay, they can film all day in an air-conditioned room." As for the mutual flirting between him and Nancy Wu whilst filming, Sammul smiles: "Really, did that happen?" With "Misleading Track" being aired at the same time, Bowie will be appearing on both of the prime time shows and this worries him a little: "I am afraid that if they are overlapping, people will get bored of me! (With so many series, are you confident about the anniversary awards?) I haven't thought much about it, because money is what I want! I don't mind too much about anything else."

Melissa Ng and Michael Tao were out promoting new series "Fantasy Hotel" earlier and with complaints that the show is giving a bad impression of tour guides and the travel industry, Michael responded: "When I was filming for 'Shine the Light', they complained about me insulting teachers... with so many complaints, it feels like they are abusing the complaints system. If there were so many regulations, then the standard of production will continue to get worse and worse." The show's producer Lee Tim Sing believes that the series should just be bringing comedy and laughter to the audience and he comments that Wayne Lai's character is particularly satirical.

Jessica on the Beach
Before entering showbiz, Jessica Hsuan was a keen sports fanatic and earlier, she joined up with Bosco Wong and Leila Tong filming on a beach for "Legend of Ah Wong" in a scene about beach volleyball. Originally, this was an ideal scene for Jessica, but in the beating sunshine, she left after playing for about five minutes. Jessica held up her parasol and said: "I haven't played for so long! When I was studying, I did almost every sport possible." She also revealed that she had been to play badminton with Bobby Au Yeung earlier, but again couldn't continue for more than five minutes, leaving her very frustrated.
As for Bosco, he seemed to play the part very well, but it turns out he does not know how to play beach volleyball. He laughs: "I have a sporting background, so most sports are within my ability."

Bowie has high hopes for HH3
After the ending of TVB's "Scoot" and the cutting short of the flopped series "Hur Jun", TVB will be launching Bowie Lam and Gigi Lai's "Healing Hands III" a little earlier than planned. Currently filming for "Dancing Flames on Yellow Sands", Bowie says: "Is 'Hur Jun' really that bad? (Are you confident with HH3?) Of course! This is a grand production and I am pleased with it after watching the edits. (You and Gigi again?) Luckily she is with Lawrence Ng more this time, because I am getting bored of seeing her! Haha!!"
With "Misleading Track" being aired at the same time, Bowie will be appearing on both of the prime time shows and this worries him a little: "I am afraid that if they are overlapping, people will get bored of me! (With so many series, are you confident about the anniversary awards?) I haven't thought much about it, because money is what I want! I don't mind too much about anything else."

TVB is largest artiste management company
TVB has been working hard lately to recruit contracted artistes and expand its artiste management department and with over sixty artistes now on its books, it has become the largest talent agency in Hong Kong. Reports indicate that most recently, over twenty new signings have included Sunny Chan and Sung Chih Ling with non-salaried contracts, but with TVB landing them advertising and stage work in exchange for a cut of the fee, it works well both ways.
TVB Production Resource Department deputy chief Lok Yee Ling is grateful to the company for recruiting so many people and she has been passing on the details of the artistes on their books over to the sponsors and production companies to look at. Salaried artiste Jessica Hsuan says that the signings are a good thing: "With the company taking on so many people, then they can keep an eye on all the monkeys!" As for Evergreen Mak, he believes that his career will continue getting better and better.

Niki is late for Charity Do
Niki Chow had agreed earlier to help sell charity raffle tickets for Yan Chai hospitals, but she arrived at the event quite late, with the event starting at 2pm, she did not arrive until about half past, making all the hospital executives wait for her. Taking place outdoors at Tsuen Wan, there was suddenly a rain shower and the guests had to hide under a bridge to continue selling their tickets. Later Niki said apologetically: "Yes, I was late because the rain caused a traffic jam. I am very sorry, but I will work hard at selling the tickets." In order to make up for her tardiness, Niki also bought a number of tickets herself as well as selling to the passers-by.
Niki had done some voluntary work before entering showbiz, where she would give haircuts to the folks in the nursing homes. She says: "That event was to give haircuts to the grannies and granpas, but I didn't know how to do it, so I just swept up!"

MHK Mocked in Jiangmen
The twenty Miss Hong Kong contestants arrived in Jiangmen earlier, where they were welcomed by the reception ladies to their hotel. When the locals saw the girls, they couldn't help voicing their opinions as they jeered loudly: "Are these so-called Miss Hong Kong?" and "They look prettier on the TV! Not as pretty in real life!" One man then said to the girls in the welcoming party: "Wah! You are prettier than them!"
Hot favourite No 18 Yuen Nei Ming did not mind this, saying: "I didn't hear them, but Miss Hong Kong is not just about looks, it is also about intelligence and education! The girls in the hotel were very pretty, their figures and smiles were very beautiful." She praises the locals for being very friendly and she felt the welcome was like that for the national team.
As for No 15 Lee Sze Nga, she says that her confidence has not been swayed by this: "I didn't hear them, I just felt that they were very friendly and polite as they took photos." As for being photographed with a tennis trainer suspected boyfriend, she explains: "He is my godbrother, we have known each other since we were young, so there is no chance of romance between us. He was at my home to see my parents." However, she is a little worried for him: "I don't know if he has a girlfriend yet and I am scared this may affect his chances!"
After a short rest at the hotel, the girls went out to shoot in Kaipeng, where they had to feed some fish and No 5 accidentally poured the whole bucket into the water, leaving her rather embarrassed.

As for Christine, she says: "His hand just brushed over my ribs." As for Kingdom's feelings, she laughs: "I have no fantasies about men any more!"
