'Revolving Doors' Promo in Philippines
TVB's new series "Revolving Doors of Vengeance" will begin airing next week and in a huge promotional event, TVB have shipped sixty cast and crew members over to Laoag in the Philippines, including producer Pook Ka Tak and cast members Kenix Kwok, Ron Ng, Ella Koon and John Chiang.

Throughout the proceedings, rumoured couple Ron and Ella kept their distance though, only posing together for photographs. During filming, there had been talk of Ella turning up late for shoots, but she was on time for the flight, whereas Ron was half an hour late. He explained that he had to pick up other people on his way to the airport and this had made him later. He went on to say that he did not want to speak to Ella too much in case the press got the wrong idea. Although the show will be filling in the space left by the highly popular "War of In-Laws", Ron does not feel pressurised by this because the series are very different, "Revolving" is more along the lines of "At the Threshold of an Era", with plenty of family scheming and misunderstandings so it will be worth following.

As the group arrived at the hotel in Laoag, they were greeted by a huge welcoming party before taking part in a golf challenge. However, producer Poon indicated that the artistes weren't very good at playing, so they just posed for photos instead. Kenix missed her shot and was rather embarrassed, saying that she would like to learn to play, but doesn't have the time. In the past, she found out that Lawrence Ng was a golfing enthusiast, even swinging an umbrella in a spare moment, but she has no intentions of taking lessons from him because he is so busy. Kenix will not put any pressure on herself for the new show because there are many elements resulting in high ratings.

Nancy is Hit in the Face
Frankie Lam, Nancy Wu, John Chiang and Derek Kok were filming in Nam Sang Village for new series "Simple Clothed Soothsayer", when rising young starlet Nancy was injured whilst waiting for her shot by a falling light reflector. She was sitting to one side waiting to be called, when suddenly a strong wind blew over the reflector board behind her and the whole thing fell over. As it fell, the steel frame brushed past her face as it crashed to the ground. Poor Nancy was so shocked that she burst out crying as she felt the pain on her face.

The crew quickly inspected Nancy's injuries and gave her an ice pack to soothe her face. After a while, Nancy found that there was a scratch on her face and she had a sharp pain in her left shoulder. She asked: "Will it leave a scar?", to which Frankie replied: "Have you bought your lottery ticket today? You really are the lucky one!" Derek joined in, saying "TVB don't have a scarred female lead, you're bound to get famous now!" With the two men cheering her up, Nancy overcame the tears to bring up a smile.

After resting for a while, Nancy said: "There are a lot of action shots in the show, but I managed them all fine. I never imagined I would be injured by just sitting down! (Are you afraid of scarring?) Of course, as a female artiste, your appearance is very important. I hope there won't be a scar." Frankie comforted her saying: "You're lucky it didn't hit you on the head, you got away quite lightly." Nancy later carried on with filming, showing her professionalism and the director did his part by finishing earlier to let her get some rest.

Sammul Makes A Killing
TVB's young male artiste Sammul Chan bought an 700 square foot apartment in Ho Man Tin for over $2.8 million in February of this year after being advised by his manager Ivy. It is reported that in the six months since buying it, Sammul has made around $400,000 from the property. It turns out that he did not want to spend the whole of his savings on this property at the time, so Ivy offered to invest in it with him. Sammul says: "There is a good thing about sharing the investment with her, because she is more experienced and I have always been renting a property, so buying for myself was a good idea as it is another investment."

Although making such a substantial profit from his first property investment, Sammul does not want to carry on in this direction: "I have a few things on at the moment, so I don't plan to invest again. I want to finish my work first before I think about it. Also, I think there is always a risk in investment, so I would rather be careful."

Manager Ivy reveals that Sammul's income has increased a lot recently, with many stage show appearances in the mainalnd and hosting jobs. With Sammul's earlier road accidents, Ivy had suggested he should buy a safer car such as a Mercedes. She says: "Sammul is not a big spender, he just uses what he needs to, but as a youngster, I am worried he will spend his money unwisely, so I advised him to invest in property. I have some experience in this field, so I chose the Ho Man Tin area for him and with the right property, he has earned $400,000 in just half a year.

Sheren is Honoured Guest in Mainland
After gaining her status in last year's epic "War and Beauty", Sheren Tang has set her sights on the Mainland markets and earlier, she worked together with friend and senior Liu Xiao Qing in mainland production "Hui Niang Wan Xin". After this, Liu has urged Sheren to head North to develop her career and for Sheren, this has been her challenge. She says: "This is my first mainland production, so it is very important. Liu has said that it can't go wrong because I have to make a name for myself and this is why she has chosen this production for me."

With veteran Liu paving the way for her, Sheren found that when she reached the set in Hengdian, everyone was looking out for her and she was rather surprised. She says gratefully: "When I arrived in Hengdian, I found that everyone was very welcoming and later I realised that Liu had asked them to look after me. (Do you work with her a lot?) Not really, but every time she was on set, she would take me out to dinner and even lent me her assistant... if she was a man, then I would think she had the hots for me!"

Of course Sheren knows how to repay the favour and as the weather there was very hot, reaching nearly 40 degrees, she shared her private fan with everyone. She smiled: "Madam Liu was so hospitable so next time when she is in Hong Kong, I will definitely take her for dinner and play host to her." After filming "Hui", Sheren felt a great feeling of satisfaction. She says: "This has been a very happy experience, so I am already negotiating other jobs, manye I will find a mainland manager to help with my future career."

'Revolving Doors' Promo
Ron Ng, Ella Koon, Kenix Kwok, Elaine Yiu and Winnie Yeung took part in a promotion for "Revolving Doors of Vengeance" earlier and rumoured couple Ella and Ron seemed to be trying hard to evade each other once again. When they were allocated each other as partners for a three-legged race, they were forced together, but tried their hardest to keep their distance as Ron didn't even offer his arm in support to the lady. Even MC Ellesmere Choy picked up on this and commented: "Ron, give her a hand! Be a gentleman!" Although there was no co-operation between them, they still won the race and Lo Hoi Pang commented how suited they were to each other!

Afterwards, Ella was asked whether Ron was lacking in gallantry and she replied with embarrassment: "We're just friends! We did pretty well and won! (Does he usually treat you like this?) I don't remember. Girls nowadays don't need to be looked after and my career comes first at the moment. I hope you will enjoy the show. (Uncle Pang say you are well suited?) It's irrelevant, don't talk about this any more. (Did you not say hello?) As soon as I got here, I had to start the show, so we didn't have time to say anything."

As for Ron, he denied not communicating with Ella and asked why he didn't help her out, he said: "She wasn't going to fall, she was very steady. (Would you rather people say that you are being rude than say you are dating?) You could say that." Asked about the reports of his constant tardiness, Ron admits that he has been oversleeping and promises to change this bad habit of his.
