Ron & Leila Promoting Ice Cream
Young idols Ron Ng and Leila Tong were invited to promote a certain brand of ice cream products as guest hosts, where they not only tried out the ice cream, but also played games with the audience, attracting quite a crowd.
Leila says that she likes to eat ice cream, but will not eat too much, so she is not afraid of getting fat. Her record is eating a rice bowl full of ice cream and her favourite is ube flavoured ice cream. Asked if she will gorge herself on ice cream when she is unhappy, she says that she actually loses her appetite when she is sad and eats more when she is happy. She remembers when she was filming for "Twin of Brothers", the weather was extremely hot and when they had refreshment breaks, the tea and coffee was swapped for ice creams and ice pops to make everyone happy. Leila seems to have gained a tan recently and looks very healthy. She says that this is because she has been filming for "Legend of Ah Wong" lately and is often out on location, which has given her a healthy glow. She says that she looks unhealthy when he is pale, so she prefers to have darker skin.
Ron has also tanned lately and he says that this is intentional because he likes to have darker skin and so he has been tanning under the lamps as well as on the beach. He will only go sunbathing in shorts though because he is afraid of looking unattractive because of his hairy legs. When it was pointed out that it was normal for men to have hairy legs, he says: "I have some male friends who do not have any leg hairs and I tried to touch his leg out of intrigue but he pushed me away quickly."

Gigi Wong back at TVB
Gigi Wong's new show about making soups began airing this week and a special press conference for the show was attended by stars including Bosco Wong, Nnadia Chan, Winnie Shum and Patricia Liu. This show will introduce the specialities of Chinese soup, so Gigi and the location crew will be out and about on the mainland, seeking out the best soups to share with the artistes and reveal the secret of 'Long Life Soup'.
During the event, Winnie appeared to refer to Gigi as her 'mother-in-law' and she explained that as her mother and Gigi are good friends, they had made a wedding pact for their children before Winnie was born. However, as they both have their respective partners now, then this arranged marriage will be unlikely, but Winnie still refers to Gigi affectionately as 'mother-in-law'. Gigi has been out filming in Shaoqing and Panyu and will soon be going to Zhongshan. Also, Gigi had taken all the measures to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes, but she forgot about the fleas and she was bitten on the face by a flea that left a red patch for over a month. Now she knows to take her own pillow with her when she films on location. Although it has been hard work, Gigi has returned with many great soup recipes and she will soon be collating these in her own book.
Having been quite a magnet to negative press, Bosco has met with another piece of gossip recently, where he was photographed taking Myolie Wu home and being involved in a four-party relationship. Asked about this, Bosco indicated that he is not dating Myolie and insisted that he was just giving a lift to a colleague, so when he saw the report, he found it rather amusing. He says: "On that day, I was working with Myolie at TVB City and we were visited by Christine Ng. Myolie said that she has been very tired lately and daren't drive herself and I happened to be eating at TKO that day, so Myolie called me after work and asked me to give her a lift home. We did not eat together at all, so I found this report quite funny."
Bosco adds that when the reporters photographed him, they asked him if he was dating and he had already explained to them that they are just colleagues and he was just giving her a lift to Kowloon. Will he be avoiding being seen alone with female artistes in the future? He says: "That would be rather bad! I don't like not helping friends and it was on my way, but I will try to keep a lower profile. (Are you dating anyone?) No. (What are your chances with Myolie?) She is a good girl and we are friends who have worked well together on series, but I just want to concentrate on my work at the moment and we are fine as good friends." Bosco says that he has signed an eight-year contract with TVB, so he hopes to achieve some success with the company, but even if he does start dating, then it will not affect his work. Asked if he feels that he has a lot of negative press, he forces a smile and says: "It can't be helped, if the paparazzi want to photograph me, then I can't exactly cover their lenses. It is to be expected in this industry."

Aaron with MHK '05
'Dancing King' Aaron Kwok took up his duties as the judge for the dancing group of contestants for this year's Miss Hong Kong Pageant and filmed the dancing heat with the seven girls. As well as teaching them on dancing techniques, Aaron also tested their skills and demonstrated a dance to them. He had earlier met with all of this year's contestants and praises the standards of this year's girls: "In the last selection event, I had to give points as well and although the testing this year is more difficult than in the past, they are all still very confident. However, they are not professional dancers, so I will teach them to relax and enjoy the music." As for his judging standards, Aaron says that he will take every aspect into consideration and dance is just one of them. Others such as conversation, education and personality are just as important, but if they dance well, then they will get a high score.

Anne at an Opening
Anne Heung took part in the opening of a jewellers that belongs to a friend of hers from Canada and so she has only received a token fee. However, her friend has presented her with a necklace worth over $100,000 as a gift and this made her extremely happy. Asked if she would consider investing in the business, Anne says she will not because there are other investors in the jewellers already. ASked if she has received valuable jewels from a man, Anne says she has not. She remembers that when she was studying in Canada, there was a guy who gave her a Rolex watch, but she refused it because she did not want to give him the wrong message by accepting such a valuable gift.
Anne says that she has never bought into gemstones, but has started to like them lately, so she will save up some money to buy diamonds, whether they are large or small will depend on her economic status. If her boyfriend presented her with a big diamond, would she agree to marry him? Anne says she would see this as a bonus, because a proposal needs flowers and a ring, but a big stone is not necessary because if this is outside of what he is able to afford, then it is a great waste. She also says that whether or not she would agree is down to their feelings for each other and not the size of the diamond.

Patrick dating Selena?
Six months after splitting up from his girlfriend Marsha Yuen, Patrick Tang has been rumoured to have continued his interest in past Miss Hong Kong contestants as suggestions have arisen that he is dating 2003 Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent winner Selena Li.
Patrick and Selena worked together filming for the "Just Love", which is currently airing in Hong Kong and it would appear that during filming, Patrick was always helping Selena out with her lines and acting. Recently, Selena has been spotted shopping near Patrick's home, coming and going from his apartment block and even using his parking space. Some sighting have even alleged that she has spent the night there before leaving in the morning to return to her home in Shatin.
As Patrick has been filming in the mainland lately, sightings seem to have gone down, but Patrick was asked about these rumours and he says: "She was not looking for me. She has a friend who loves downstairs from me, so I lent her my parking space." Asked why she did not use her friend's parking space, Patrick simply replied: "We are not dating, just good friends."

Bernice's contract with TVB will not expire until March next year, but she has already become the target of many management companies offering her generous contracts, making Bernice very happy. She says: "The company has treated me very well and we have a good atmosphere when we discuss the contracts. Also, I have my roots at TVB, so it will definitely be my first choice. Lee Young Ae in HK
"Jewel in the Palace" star Lee Young Ae visited Hong Kong this week and raised once again the fanmania surrounding the show. At a press conference, accompanied by her manager and TVB General Manager Stephen Chan, attended by media from Korea, Japan, China and Hong Kong, she presented Mr Chan with an ancient Korean Imperial Plate, whilst Mr Chan gave her a crystal vase on behalf of TVB.
Greeting the press by introducing herself in Mandarin, Lee indicated that although she felt a little unwell when she arrived, a good night's rest and the warmth from the Hong Kong fans has made her feel much better and she hopes that she can bring happiness to all. Later, Lee signed a life-sized poster of her Jang Geum character, writing in English: "Thank you so much for my HK fans" before waving to her fans and showing a beautiful smile. Her professionalism continued during the question and answer session as she noted down every question before responding with a sweet smile.
Lee indicated that she had visited Hong Kong before in 2001, but it was very different this time because so many people know her and it puts a lot of pressure on her. With so many other stars of the show having visited Hong Kong earlier, Lee was asked why she is so late and she explained that she has been busy filming and has had to rest first. Asked how she felt about the show reaching record ratings across the whole of South East Asia, Lee says that she was rather worried when she was filming it because there were so many historical references and it seemed confined to the Korean audiences, but with the acceptance of so many viewers in the region, this makes her very happy indeed. She has learned a lot from making the series, including some philosophies on life, such as success breeding from hard work, knowledge and curiosity. She says that filming the series was very hard work because sometimes she only had one or two hours sleep, but to have this success is her satisfaction and fortune.
With many rumours linking her to male stars, Lee was asked why this was and she laughed as she replied that she should go and ask them first before responding to this question. As for what she looks for in a partner, she says as long as they are mutually in love, then there is nothing special she wants. Asked if she would be working in any Hong Kong productions, Lee says that she met with Wong Kar-wai and Tony Leung Chiu Wai at a film festival earlier and has expressed a wish to work with them. She has also had offers from Hong Kong and mainland producers, but the right role and script has not yet arisen.
With the Korean media labelling her as 'The Pride of the Korean People', Lee was asked what she has to say to her countrymen and she syas that she hopes that they will love the country and their culture as well as learn to have the spirit of Jang Geum. As the event drew to a close, Lee thanked once again the Japanese and Beijing media for their interview and the fans for their support. She hopes that everyone will continue to enjoy Korean films, series and the Korean culture and love Korea even more.

Liza and Myolie get out of the Heat
The weather this week has been extremely hot and for Liza Wang and Myolie Wu filming in Central for new series "Legal Spokesperson", wearing their power suits it has not been fun. Moreover, with crowds of onlookers watching filming and pulling out their phones to take photos of them, this has led to plenty of NG's before being able to complete the scene. In between scenes, Myolie has been hiding in the shopping centres to cool off in the aircon, whilst Liza has her own private fan. Myolie says that she was a little worried earlier about what the magazines would be writing about her and Bosco Wong because she asked him to give her a lift home after work. She feels guilty if this was to affect Bosco.

Selena's response
After the news broke suggesting a romance between Patrick Tang and Selena Li, the reporters have been waiting outside her Shatin home hoping for a response and when she met them for the first time, she openly discussed the reports, saying she had gone to visit her godmother and not Patrick: "My godmother lives in the same building as him and she does not have a parking space. I had tried to park in the restricted area, but I was turned away, so Patrick lent me his space. We are not dating, just friends. I am focussing on my career at the moment, so I don't want to think about romance, so there is no chance of anything happening between us." Asked for her opinion on Patrick, she referred to him as being faithful and caring.

Moses is new Press Target
A report has emerged in 'Sudden Weekly' that suggests Moses Chan has dumped Bernice Liu in favour of a married woman! The woman in question is no other but Moses and Bernice's TVB manager Carri. On a radio interview, Moses explained that the reason that he was hugging Carri on that night was because he wanted to thank her for his birthday present and for no other reason. He says that when he was asked about the report by his friends, he felt very uncomfortable because Carri has always treated him very well and she is like half a mother to him. His birthday is on 16th May and Carri had given him an early birthday present that night. He says: "At the time when I received the present from her, I did not know how to say thank you to her, so I put my arm on around her shoulder. When I don't know what to say, then I will put my hand on people's shoulders." Asked if he would do the same to Bernice, Moses laughs that he has to be more careful with girls. He says that most people should know that Carri is his manager and these reporters should know better, but if their company wants them to make something of it, then there is nothing he can do about it.
The reports indicate that Carri has been very good to Moses, requesting that his monthly base salary is raised from $8000 to $15,000 and also raising his filming fee from $3000 to $11,000 per episode. Asked about this, Moses says he does not want to discuss his salary in public, but that these figures are not correct, but there is nothing he can do about these open attacks against him. Asked if he has comforted Carri, he says that the reporters not only showed photographs of Carri, but also of her husband and daughter and this is very intrusive on her family life. He also points out that they do not have 'pet names' for each other as the report suggests, as she just calls him 'Ah Mo' and he calls her 'Carri Ma'.

Sonija Steps into the Future
Ever since Sonija Kwok had announced her rather unlikely romance with Derek Wan, her career has taken a downward slide as she fell from becoming first female lead to being almost 'exiled' to the mainland by TVB. Call it a coincidence, but since announcing her split from Deric earlier this month, Sonija's career has taken a turn for the better, with offers of work for commercial shows and spokesperson contracts that have bumped up her income. With her newfound wealth, Sonija had earlier bought herself a $400,000 Mercedes and last week was looking at a luxury aparment on Prince Edward Road worth over $5million. This seems to mark a fresh start without Deric as she cuts all her ties and moves away from the area where he lives.
When asked about whether she was buying this apartment, Sonija replied that she had been looking at this development as a place to live in, but she was yet to buy it. Attending the premiere of "Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith", Sonija was asked again about whether she was moving away to get away from her ex-boyfriend, she refused to talk about it, saying that the reason she was moving was simply because her rental agreement had expired.

Frankie Lam and Tavia Yeung were at TKO TVB City filming for "Simple Clothed Soothsayer" and with the hot weather, the ancient costume was hard to bear for Frankie, who had pulled up his trousers and was drinking cold drinks to cool off. He says: "Ten years ago, I could fight from day to night without any problems, but now I am older and the weather is getting hotter and hotter, then I'd better keep still between takes."
On the other hand, for Tavia who has been filming ancient shows one after another, she has become used to the sun and says that her tolerance is frightening, laughing: "I don't agree with drinking cold drinks in such hot weather because it is bad for your body. Moreover the material of the costumes is good for keeping cool in. With the waist belt, then this makes slimming even easier!"

Hacken meets more MHK
Eight of the Miss Hong Kong contestants who have made it into the preliminary contests met with their judge Hacken Lee and asked for his thoughts on the girls, Hacken says: "Those with good appearances are only so-so at singing, whereas those with good voices aren't quite as pretty, but for Miss Hong Kong, appearances come first, as well as personalities." Hacken has also chosen one of his more difficult songs 'I cannot sing' to test them with and says: "Yes, it is quite cruel, but you will have to face your audience later if you want to enter this industry, so they'd better get used to it."
Also, despite being absent at the first quarter 'Jade Solid Gold Selections', Hacken was still given an award and when asked if TVB were giving him special treatment, Hacken says: "TVB have always been very fair, but these things are beyond my control. If I get an award, then I will thank them, if I don't then I will do better, as long as I feel I have done the best for myself."

Bosco and Leila Filming
An earlier scene for "The Legend of Ah Wong", where Bosco Wong and Leila Tong had to shoot a 'diving into the sea' scene was cancelled due to technical difficulties. After filming through the night on the previous day, Leila was feeling a little dizzy and was glad that the jumping scene was cancelled, but she still had to film the rather exhilarating speeding car scene: "Sitting in Bosco's car and being shaken from side to side made me feel rather sick". During the filming, they were met by some traffic police, but when they found out that they were filming, they were allowed to carry on.

We hadn't thought of a name or even built the baby cot or bought any clothes for her. I am very happy though because the whole family is very excited. (Have you learned to look after the baby yet?) I am confident that I will be a 100% mother and I will be breastfeeding because I want to give her the best nutrients." Patrick dating Selena?

Bernice is Hot Property
After her recent sets of sexy photographs have been published, Bernice Liu has said that she does not mind wearing sexy clothes, but explains: "I am not going down the sexy image route, just that as an artiste, I have to try many different things and luckily the response has been great. The most important thing is that it is a healthy image." Bernice's contract with TVB will not expire until March next year, but she has already become the target of many management companies offering her generous contracts, making Bernice very happy. She says: "The company has treated me very well and we have a good atmosphere when we discuss the contracts. Also, I have my roots at TVB, so it will definitely be my first choice. I like the working environment here, but we are still discussing the details, so I can't say anything yet."

Frankie and Tavia Filming in the Heat

Cherrie is Ice Skating Expert
With her beautiful long legs, Cherrie Kong has been a regular customer at the ice rink lately and it turns out that she has always been a great lover of ice skating, but when she was younger, she could not afford proper lessons. Now she finally has the ability to fulfil her childhood dream. Her trainer Peter, who had earlier coached Cecilia Cheung, explains that ice skating is like ballet dancing because the form is so graceful and elegant and every move first involves a straightening of the leg that makes it so very fluid. Cherrie has learned several routines with the coach's instruction and he has praised her for her talent. She says confidently: "I hope that I can do all sorts of fancy moves like Cecilia in the future."

Bosco and Leila Filming
An earlier scene for "The Legend of Ah Wong", where Bosco Wong and Leila Tong had to shoot a 'diving into the sea' scene was cancelled due to technical difficulties. Leila explains: "The scene tells of Bosco's advances towards Jessica Hsuan being rejected, so he takes it out on his 'reserve lover', that is me and we have to dive into the sea together as well as go on a fast drive."
Breathing a sigh of relief, Bosco said afterwards: "I was most afraid of them asking for my ID card because I didn't have it with me at the time."

Bernice seeks a Mate... for her dog
Bernice Liu and her eight month old pet dog Mac appeared at a radio station and she said: "I have sung a line for the new Metro Radio show theme tune and even Mac has a 'woof' in it." She says that when Mac saw her at the puppy farm, it was so happy that it had wet itself and she finds this very amusing! After training, Mac has learned many little gestures, but Bernice has no intentions of taking him onto a game show, but says: "I am looking for a girlfriend for him." As for whether she will hold a luxury birthday party for him like Cally Kwong, Bernice smiles: "No, Mac's godmother will have a birthday party for him."

Myolie and Bosco Just Colleagues
With the recent 'car-sharing' incident involving Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong, during filming yesterday, Myolie once again clarified their relationship: "We are just colleagues, I had been working all day that day and I did not want to drive, so I got a lift off him after he and Christine Ng visited me at work. Don't think the wrong way!" Myolie then complained about Roger Kwok making things worse by saying he should have watched the whole thing: "Roger says that if he had known about it, then he would have speeded up and watched the whole incident. So cheeky!" Myolie has been surrounded by rumours lately, but her boyfriend has not complained, making her feel much better.
